MARCH 07 Kathie and her husband Brandt Peters were in Las Vegas this weekend for the opening of Kathies exhibition "The Instigators". The show is almost sold out with some excellent pieces still available. Susan, the gallery manager and I feel we have two lifelong friends now. Kathie and Brandt are two of the nicest and professional people you would ever want to meet. Like us they love what they do and it really shows. If you get a chance to ever meet them, DO. If not get the next best thing and acquire a KO painting, you'll feel it and know you have a great part of new American art, we believe they surely have a place in history. still editting photos from the weekend, will post a few pics here soon. |

| FEBRUARY 07 Sam Davis and Ami Howard came in from LA to install and open their exhibit "At Play in the land of the Ludicrous". We had a ball first friday and sam and ami got to visit with their dear pals from unlv. By the end of this month I hope to have this website updated and my taxes done. Then I cant wait to get back into the studio for some new work while I work on a few commisions. JANUARY 2007 Holy Smokes! Has it been that long since I updated here! I guess its a good thing to be so busy you dont have time to blog! September 06 brought us the Susan Andrews Grace exhibit "Round Earth's Imagined Corners". Susan herself came in for the opening all the way from BC Canada! It was great spending time with her and showing how the arts district has grown since she was here finishing her Doctorate at UNLV. Her exhibition was simply beautiful and a little esoteric for a lot of people but it was cool to experiment with that type of work in the gallery. October 06 unveiled my Monopoly series and it was a fun installation too. We painted the walls a plum color that seemed a big hit! I gave that paint chip color to a lot of people! The Monopoly series went on to exhibit in DeZart One Gallery in Palm Springs for December 06. The fun really started up with November and December's exhibit "Minumental Invitational" Jerry Misko, Mary Warner, Wendy Kveck, Casey Weldon and 14 more artists submitted 4 x 4" or smaller painitngs priced $150 or under. We sold thousands of dollars of their work. We will definenitly do it again for 07. I finished a new appliance series as well. It is on view at the Winchester cultural center and gallery in Las Vegas. They move on to Carson City in the Nevada Arts Council's LXS space in the Capitol Building in April. Will get jpgs posted as soon as I can. | | |
| AUGUST 2006 Well, we have been busy in the gallery. See the Jack Endewelt exhibit. This took almost the whole month of July to finish putting together. The exhibit is exquisite and more than half sold out. Thank You to all who share my appreciation for this incredible artist! I am back in the studio now working on the Monopoly series. -Marty | | |

| JUNE 2006 Amy Sol's exhibit is SOLD OUT. We had most of the paintings sold before the First Friday crowds arrived. She has a great following, Susan- the gallery manager, Jennifer- my new assistant, Amy and I all celebrated the good fortune with a bottle of Moet. Thank You to all Amys collectors! Pictured below- Amy and her brother. Then Jennifer on hanging day (note white gloves!- They arent for Sunday school)
I began the preliminary drawings for the Monopoly paintings. We are in the midst of designing a catalog to go with the Jack Endewelt exhibit. I love Jacks work so much and there is SO much of it to work with! Jack passed away in January 06. I am touched his widow has entrusted Trifecta to handle his work. MAY 2006 Tablecloth/Citrus series Each of the 4 paintings on canvas are based upon vintage tablecloths I have in the studio. I have been wanting to revisit a citrus still life series, so am working with the pairing of the two. Top Row is the beginning of the series, next row is how they look finished.
Compare to the top ones and you can see a paintings progress. 24 x 24" $800. each. (the one with oranges is SOLD) | | |
| APRIL 2006 Ready to paint again after a months holiday in Phukett and Ko Samui Thailand. What a place it was to see. We saw the Tsunami effects, rode an elephant in the jungle, ate some weird stuff, had serious spa treatments, rested, and saw some things I 'aint never want to see again!
studio... working on a new cake/pastry series. There are a few different series in the works that have been floating around in my head and finally I had to concentrating on finishing one of them. I want to be with them all, and if you follow this studio notebook at all, you will soon detect my conflicts between gallery business and making art. In a nutshell, I love both occupations, and for one person to be doing both presents some unique circumstances. I do pretty well with it though- Its just something I have to always keep in check about. GO SEE! ....Jim Stanford's exhibition at Winchester gallery. It is amazing digital work and the installation is the best ever! .....Tim Bavingtons exhibition at G-C gallery on Main Street. www.godtcleary.com All for now- see you next time! Marty
